Straightforward and useful utility that allows your computer to preview and display iOS HEIC images just like JPEG files without the need of third party tools

Whether Apple's new HEIC format (short for High-Efficiency Image File) will be fully supported in future version of Windows or not remains to be seen.
However, as a PC user, if you do happen to have an iOS device, then we're sure that the whole HEIC situation might prove to be a bit troublesome, even though you could always go back to shooting JPEG on your iOS device.
Of course, you may already be aware of various useful utilities capable of dealing with the HEIC, however, there's one more that might or should catch your attention, namely CopyTrans HEIC for Windows.
Some of the firefights, base raids and battles that go on and can happen in this game are crazy, I strongly suggest anyone that picks up this game give it a go.-=-In conclusion,There's so much more to Unturned that I can't put it all in one post. I suggest to everyone that read this that they go try it out, free on Steam. Things to do in unturned single player.
Provides system-wide support for Apple's new HEIC format
In just a few words, once installed on your computer's system, this simple Windows plug-in allows you to view iOS HEIC images natively, using an older version of Windows Photo Viewer (in the case of Windows 10).
And that's not all as it also features fairly useful Explorer integration. More to the point, you can also explore HEIC files by simply looking at their thumbnails, as well as view their EXIF metadata (Properties -> Details).
As efficient and useful as it is unobtrusive
Don't try to look for the app's user interface since there isn't one. However, apart from displaying HEIC files natively and allowing you to view them via the Windows Picture Viewer, right-click any HEIC file and you're bound to discover another noteworthy integration.
In addition to everything else, CopyTrans HEIC for Windows also offers a very convenient way of converting any HEIC file to JPEG and, even better, it works with multiple files as well.
Dealing with HEIC files on your computer has never been easier
Taking everything into account, CopyTrans HEIC for Windows is definitely a must-have for anyone that has trouble dealing with HEIC files from his or her iOS device on any Windows computer.
It boasts a very interesting mix of features, acting both as a HEIC viewer and a simplistic HEIC converter, without over-emphasizing its presence on your computer's system.

If you have an iPhone or you’ve received a picture shared by an iPhone user, you may have noticed a problem. Recent iPhones shoot pictures by default in the HEIC format, a high efficiency image format that reduces the file size without lowering quality.
Apple added HEIC support to Macs and iOS last fall, but although it’s an industry standard format, Microsoft has yet to include built-in support for HEIC in Windows 10. Therefore, when you open a folder of HEIC images in Windows 10, you see this:

Add HEIC to Windows 10
Thankfully, there’s a safe and easy solution. Although Microsoft doesn’t include HEIC support in the default Windows 10 installation, you can add support for this format via an official extension from the Microsoft Store. If you’re running Windows 10 version 17134 (a.k.a. the April Update) or higher, search for HEIF Image Extensions in the Microsoft Store app.
This extension adds native HEIC support to virtually all Windows 10-based devices, including the Xbox One and any Windows Mobile holdouts. After installing it, simply return to the location of your HEIC pictures in File Explorer, reload the directory if necessary, and you’ll see that Windows 10 can now open HEIC images, including support for things like thumbnail previews.

Convert HEIC Images in Windows 10
If instead of simply being able to view HEIC files in Windows 10, if you want to convert them to a more compatible format there are several options:
- Export from Photos App: With the HEIF Extensions installed, right-click on an HEIC file and choose Edit with Photos. Once the Photos app opens, click Save a copy in the lower-right corner to export a copy of the photo to JPEG.
- Use a Web-Based Conversion Service: Several websites offer HEIC to JPEG image conversion services. One that works relatively well is heictojpg.com, which can covert up to 50 photos at once.
- CopyTrans HEIC: In addition to adding HEIC support to versions of Windows 10 prior to the April Update, this free utility can also convert your existing HEIC images to JPEG.
Windows: If you’re an avid iOS photographer, dealing with .HEIC files on a Windows system can be a bit of a pain. One of the first things I do with any of these images is convert them, but that’s not a process you can do natively within the Windows 10 operating system. You’ll need some kind of third-party solution. Mine was to drag-and-drop .HEIC photos into the free app iMazing HEIC Converter. It’s a useful utility for converting them to .JPGs, but one that’s a lot more helpful for batch-processing—it’s a bit annoying to have to load it up if you’re just converting a single image.
However, I’ve since found an even better solution for handling .HEIC images in Windows 10. The cost is just as great—free—and it’s even easier to use than iMazing’s app. To get started, head on over to CopyTrans’ website, and then download and install “CopyTrans HEIC for Windows.”

You’ll now get two major benefits within Windows. First, you’ll be able to view .HEIC files directly in the Windows Photo Viewer app. (Not “Photos,” as you’ll need a different set of Windows extensions for that.) You won’t be able to edit your images—sorry—but it’s better than not being able to view them at all.

Second, converting .HEIC files to .JPGs is even easier. Right-click on your .HEIC image and use the new option in Windows’ context menu, “Convert to JPEG with CopyTrans,” to do just that.
You’ll instantly get a .JPG copy of whatever it is you selected, and you can process multiple .HEIC images at a time. There’s no app to load, nor any other settings you need to select. It’s a fast, simple way to free yourself from .HEIC if you’d rather have a file format you can do something with, especially if you’re looking to use your image in a third-party editor like Photoshop.

Apple’s iPhone and iPad now take photos in the HEIF image format, and these photos have the .HEIC file extension. Windows doesn’t natively support HEIC files, but there’s a way to view them anyway—or convert them to standard JPEGs.
Windows 10 (April 2018 Update)
Copytrans Heic For Windows Reviews
Windows 10’s April 2018 Update makes it easy to install support for HEIC files.
If you’ve upgraded to this version of Windows 10, you can double-click an HEIC file to open the Photos app. Click the “Download codecs at Microsoft Store” link in the Photos app.
The Store app will open to the HEIF Image Extensions page. Click the “Get” button to download and install the free codecs on your PC.
You can now open HEIC files like any other image—just double-click them and they’ll open in the Photos app. Windows will also show thumbnails of HEIC images in File Explorer.

Rather than messing with conversion tools, we recommend you just download and install CopyTrans HEIC for Windows. This tool adds full support for HEIC images to Windows. You’ll see thumbnails for HEIC files in File Explorer on Windows 10 (or Windows Explorer on Windows 7), and they’ll open in the standard Windows Photo Viewer. With this tool installed, you’ll also be able to insert HEIC files directly into Microsoft Office applications.
While you do have to install this third-party software to view HEIC files, it doesn’t feel like you’re using a third-party app afterwards. It’s as if Windows always supported these images: just double-click an .HEIC file to open it.
If you don’t see the thumbnails after installing this software, you may have to reboot your PC or at least sign out and sign back in.
This tool also allows you to right-click an .HEIC file and select “Convert to JPEG” to convert it to a JPEG file. Click this option and you’ll get a .JPEG version of the image automatically placed in the same folder.
JPEG files are more widely supported, so this also allows you to share that HEIC image with someone else or import it into an application that supports JPEG images but not HEIC files.
How to Convert HEIC Files to JPEG
If you don’t want to install any software, you can always use an online conversion tool. Just upload the .HEIC file and you’ll be able to download a .JPEG.
Warning: While the website below worked perfectly fine for us, we strongly recommend against uploading any private photos (or documents, or videos) to online tools for conversion. If the photo has sensitive content, it’s best to leave it on your PC. On the other hand, if the photo wouldn’t be interesting to anyone snooping, there’s no real concern with uploading it to an online service. This is a general recommendation with any type of file. For example, we recommend you don’t upload PDFs with sensitive financial or business data in them to PDF conversion services, either.
If you just want to do a quick conversion, head to heictojpg.com and upload up to 50 photos at a time. You can drag and drop one or more HEIC files from your computer to the web page.
The website will convert those files to JPEGs for you, and you can download the resulting JPG files from the page.
In the future, hopefully more applications, including Adobe Photoshop, will gain support for HEIF images and HEIC files. For now, you’ll have to rely on third-party tools.

What is HEIC?
In iOS 11, Apple started using HEIC/HEIF, a new image format that takes up half the space of JPGs without sacrificing a pixel of image quality. Up until today, your Windows PC was unable to natively support HEIC files – the default Windows Photo Viewer couldn’t open the new formats.
View HEIC files on Windows
You don’t need any additional software to browse your photos! CopyTrans HEIC for Windows is a simple Windows plugin that allows you to open HEIC files using Windows Photo Viewer. You can print out your HEICs as well. Just send them to print, no need to convert them to JPG first!
Need JPGs anyway? Convert HEIC to JPG
Most third-party software doesn’t support HEIC format yet. Without launching a separate app, you can convert any iOS HEIC image to JPG instantly with a simple right-click. This means your photos stay safe and private on your PC, unlike with multiple online HEIC converters. Download CopyTrans HEIC for PC now! After installing CTH, right-click on any HEIC file and choose “Convert to JPEG with CopyTrans” in the drop-down menu. You will see a converted JPG image next to the HEIC one.
Microsoft Office Support
Now you can insert your HEICs into any Microsoft Office document. It’s compatible with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and MS Excel. With CopyTrans HEIC for Windows you can insert a HEIC image into a Word document, a Power Point presentation or into an Excel spreadsheet. Just open a document – click Insert – Pictures – select All files – select the HEIC file of your choice and click Insert.
Does CTH support HEVC videos?
No. Both HEIC and HEVC use the same image encoding technology, but in a different way. HEVC video format uses video codecs (there are lots of them already), and HEIC photo format uses Windows image plugins. Currently CTH is the only HEIC plugin for Windows.
Stop wasting your disk space
Did you know that, by default, your iPhone* automatically converts HEIC to JPG when you transfer them to your PC? Did you also know that JPG is an antiquated format that takes up twice as much of your hard drive space as HEIC? If you want to keep your original HEIC/HEVC files both on your iPhone and on your computer, turn off the setting ‘Automatic transfer to PC’ on your iDevice.
